The traffic light going east/west on Appezzato defaults to the pedestrian walk signal. When a car approaches from Coral Sea to go south on Poggi, the pedestrian walk light flashes and goes through another walk cycle before starting the count down. The result is that cars and bikes that are going north/south through the intersection need to wait 30 seconds for the light to cycle through. With the no right turn on red from Poggi to Appezzato, the traffic backs up. Why can't this light operate like the light at Central and 8th that adjusts to oncoming traffic?
