Description

Please add a pedestrian crosswalk sign with lights. This intersection gets especially busy after 5 pm when people are getting off work from the business park. Especially with the new retail at Star Harbor and the new swimming pool opening at Jean Sweeney we need safer crosswalks for pedestrians. Today I was trying to cross the street and at least 15 cars going both directions on Sherman did not stop, and a car turning right from Eagle turned in front of me not yielding at all. I also had to tell another car trying to turn right that I am trying to cross so they also would not drive in front of me. Finally after waiting so long for cars to stop I just risked my safety and started crossing slowly to force the cars to stop. I believe the light up street signs to be fairly effective from my experience, but the least we could do is add the signs without the lights. This would be beneficial for the residents of Star Harbor, the surrounding neighborhood, and the cars who clearly don't understand the pedestrian right of way.
