I am writing to formally request the installation of speed bumps or other effective traffic-calming measures on Lorton Ave, specifically between Peninsula Avenue and Bayswater. There is a significant amount of pedestrian activity in this neighborhood, particularly involving young children and families who regularly walk along these streets. Unfortunately, vehicle speeds are frequently excessive, with drivers traveling upwards of 30 mph in an area where children are regularly present. More concerning is the frequent disregard for the stop sign at Bayswater. Drivers often fail to come to a complete stop, creating a dangerous situation for pedestrians, cyclists, and residents crossing or walking through the intersection. As a resident, I am increasingly concerned that it is only a matter of time before someone, potentially a child, is seriously injured. We should not have to wait for an accident or tragedy before preventative safety measures are implemented. I respectfully request that the city install speed bumps to reduce vehicle speed
