Description

There has been a sharp increase in the number of loose dogs playing in and around the children’s park and any time I have ever calmly and nicely asked a dog owner to put their dog on a lease, or throw their ball away from the children’s playground rather than toward it, for some reason I am always met with such hostility and aggression. Once when another caretaker of a young child asked a man to pick up his dogs poop from the grass directly touching the playground he reacted wildly and started yelling at her and me and the other mom who came to this woman’s defense. We stated that we are just looking out for our children’s health and safety. He yelled for us to mind our business. I know that the dog section isn’t great, I’m not even asking them to go there. I just ask that they stay out of the children’s side and playground, and to keep their dogs on leashes as they are required to do anyway. One man sits on a bench facing the playground and throws his dog’s ball to the grass adjacent to the playground and when we asked him if he wouldn’t mind to please throw the other direction, toward the big open field, he started yelling and cussing at me and my partner and baby, and another day when we again asked calmly and politely, he started recording me and my baby. I am not asking much, I am just trying to protect my baby and the other children who play at this children’s park. Somehow I am always yelled at. What am I to do?
