The bicycle sensor for the traffic signal at the intersection of San Pablo Ave and 47th Street / Steve Dain Dr. is broken. When a bicyclist is travelling eastbound on 47th Street / Steve Dain Dr., there is no marking on the ground showing where the bicyclist should put their bike to trip the light. And the traffic signal will not detect the bicycle if you stop your bike in the obvious place (center of the lane traveling straight). If the traffic signal itself is managed by Caltrans, Emeryville should be able to paint a stencil on the ground that shows the correct place to stop a bicycle in order to trip the light. When travelling westbound on 47th Street, there is a stencil painted on the ground and the traffic signal does recognize a bicycle traveling in that direction.
