A large Caterpillar excavator has sat idle on a steep dirt berm for five years, visibly hanging off the edge. In heavy rain, the heavy machinery could destabilize the hillside, creating a severe slide hazard that threatens public safety. This long-term abandonment is a severe blight violation. There is a documented history of similar code and safety complaints at this site dating back to 2021 (see City of Oakland Online Permit Center Record 2104161). Neighborhood residents request that Code Enforcement inspect the site and address this hazard please.
