Encampment and trash at Grove Shafter Park #2 – 3408 MLK Jr. Way at 34th Street Hello, I'm the owner of the property at 3408 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, at 34th Street, home to Nature's Best Food and Cafe, a new neighborhood grocery store. Grove Shafter Park #2, the community park that surrounds our building along 34th Street and behind the building, has become a large homeless encampment. The park is covered with tents, trash, piles of belongings, broken bikes, and shopping carts. RVs are also parked on the sidewalk next to our building. The trash is bringing rodents right next to a business that sells food, and our customers and staff do not feel safe walking to the store. We are concerned that someone will get hurt. We are trying to run a clean, safe market where families can buy fresh groceries, and we can't do that with conditions like this next door. We are asking the City to: - Remove the encampment from Grove Shafter Park #2 - Remove the RVs parked on the sidewalk next to our building - Clean up all the trash, debris, broken bikes, and shopping carts in the park - Restore the park so the community can use it again Photos are attached. Thank you for your help. Abraham Ahmed Owner, 3408 MLK Jr. Way 510-375-4518
