Description
Would like to review and discuss two existing crosswalks on Fifth Ave for addition of flashing lights for use. Fifth Ave is the “safe route to school” for children attending both Sun Valley Elementary and Davidson Middle School. At this time, a dangerous situation exists as cars speeding on Fifth Ave do NOT consistently stop for the children (or others) in the crosswalk. It is believed that an option to turn on flashing lights for use of the crosswalk would increase the likelihood of safe crossings and decrease the chance of a child being hit by a vehicle.
