I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the deplorable condition of the exit ramp leading onto Bellam Way. First and foremost, the condition in which this area was left following construction is absolutely unacceptable. The newly installed drainage culvert was littered with hundreds of nails, fasteners, stakes, and other construction debris. Much of this material will eventually rust and could be washed into the bay, creating an entirely avoidable environmental hazard. Adding to this situation, there is a family of dead raccoons lying along the shoulder that has apparently been left unattended for over a week. The sheer amount of garbage, construction debris, and accumulated litter along the shoulder is appalling. Much of this debris is covering or obstructing the storm drains, creating additional concerns regarding drainage, flooding, and pollution. Frankly, the overall condition of this area is disgraceful and reflects a complete lack of oversight, accountability, and basic maintenance standards. Residents and motorists should not have to tolerate conditions that resemble those of a neglected, third-world roadway. I would like to know who was responsible for inspecting and accepting the completed construction work, and why the area has been allowed to deteriorate to this extent. I am requesting immediate action to remove the construction debris, clear the storm drains, properly dispose of the dead wildlife, and restore the roadway shoulders to an acceptable condition. I would appreciate a response outlining what corrective measures will be taken and when this work will be completed.
