#23187155
I would like to request an engineering and traffic safety review of the recently installed concrete curbs and islands along Haven Avenue and Fairway Street. These installations have significantly reduced the available roadway space. Since their installation, the street has become extremely narrow, making it difficult for vehicles to navigate turns safely. In fact, vehicles are already hitting the concrete islands when attempting to make turns. I understand that these improvements may have been intended to improve pedestrian safety or accessibility. However, I am concerned that the current configuration may have created an unintended traffic safety issue. I respectfully request that the City inspect the area and evaluate whether the placement and dimensions of these structures are appropriate, whether sufficient vehicle turning clearance has been maintained, and whether modifications may be necessary. I would appreciate having a traffic engineer conduct an actual on-site assessment rather than simply reviewing the installation on paper. My intention is to support safe streets for both pedestrians and motorists while ensuring that the improvements do not create additional hazards.
Resubmitting opens a fresh form pre-filled with this ticket's location and category. The city dispatches the new report independently.
