I am writing to report severe shoreline erosion along the Bay Farm Island shoreline path in Harbor Bay, Alameda (by 2857 Sea View Pkwy) The bank beside the path is deeply undercut, and large sections of the trail edge have already slumped and collapsed onto the beach, as shown in the attached photo. The erosion is now dangerously close to the bike path itself and continues toward nearby homes. This is a safety risk for cyclists and pedestrians using the path, and without action the path and adjacent properties will be further threatened as erosion continues. I am asking the City to inspect the site and take mitigation measures to stabilize the bank and protect the path, such as shoreline reinforcement or a setback repair.
