Kids are sometimes crossing the unregulated southside of Kohnen across Grafton going to and from Fallon Middle school and I have seen multiple times a driver almost hit someone bc they suddenly crossed into the south cross walk after the guard had moved back to her position on the northwest corner allowing traffic to move. A bike cop actually scolded a kid on the 2nd day of school for doing that exact thing right in front of me. Another time a kid was almost hit walking across the southside again right in front of me. The solution is simple/ give the guard a portable no crossing sign that she can set up in the morning on the southeast corner across the sidewalk blocking the south crosswalk that will force kids and bikes to cross to the north side first or at least think hard before violating the sign. For afternoon it should go on the southwest corner of Kohnen and Grafton as kids leave school. The solutions are simple. I can buy this today and put it tomorrow but the city and the school need to take the action. Please do something to avoid a fatality today.
