While playing pickleball in Montclair Park on court 3 on Saturday morning, July 11, a pine cone fell from a nearby tree onto my friend's shoulder. It fell from quite a height and weighed about 2 pounds (it was a fresh green one about the size of a softball). The photo is of her shoulder about 12 hours later with the bruising caused by the pine cone. We are fortunate it did not hit her or anyone else's head. It would be great if the city could prevent this from happening again to someone or possibly causing worse damage.
