Hello, I’m writing to express my concerns about dogs running off-leash in the meadows at Stern Grove and whether the park’s rules are being enforced. I regularly walk through the park with my young children, and we often encounter unleashed dogs that may suddenly approach and frighten them, especially when they are large dogs. Two days ago, while we were playing hide-and-seek, my younger child stepped in dog waste. Today, we spotted more waste on the grass. I haven’t attached photos of the waste because of the nature of the content, but this is becoming a frustrating and recurring issue. Stern Grove is one of the few places in our neighborhood where I can enjoy a walk among trees with my children without having to drive elsewhere. I want my kids to be able to play freely without worrying about stepping in dog waste or being unexpectedly approached by an unleashed dog. I understand that Stern Grove has a designated dog area, so I would appreciate clarification on why dogs are frequently running off-leash in other parts of the park. According to the applicable park rules, dogs must be leashed outside designated off-leash areas. Are these rules enforced in the meadows? What measures are being taken to address off-leash dogs and owners who fail to clean up after their pets? I support responsible dog ownership, but families with young children should also be able to enjoy their neighborhood park safely and comfortably. I would appreciate your response and clarification on what can be done to improve enforcement. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, Anastasiia
