Date last observed: 28-jun-26; exact location: main bldg; building type: residence/dwelling hazardous appliance; other electrical; ; additional information: owner plans to replace current heat source from steam boiler system to electric heat pump in each apt. 20 apts in building. existing radiators (21h 25w 10d) will be removed. owner informed (10) front-facing apts get a wall-mounted pump in kitchen under window & (10) rear-facing units get window-mounted pump, plugs into outlet, hangs over both sides of window sill. these appliances are illegal. sf housing code 701 requires owner to provide permanently installed hardwired heating system. install floor-mounted mini-split heat pumps exactly where existing radiators are, once removed. owner attempting to bypass habitability laws. we do not consent. emailing copy of the 4-page letter we received from owner, regarding this (and other) planned projects. this letter, dated june 17, 2026, pertains to a few complaints filed this p
