I previously filed service request 202000128588 after a plumber came out to see if there were further tree roots damaging our sewage line between our building and the end of the sidewalk. While there, he checked "past the trap" and found tree roots in the city part of the line. He told me to file immediately and I called 311. The city sent out a very nice worker who did not bring a camera but said she could tell that there was no problem "past the trap." Nevertheless, she had the tube go around in circles in case there were issues. The service request was closed. The plumber finally sent us video with his audio recording: https://youtu.be/s6zPRr9wb2U?si=jCRmlLAmj2nS13Yr I'm sharing with the city in case after seeing this it wants to bring out its own camera and ensure the city-owned tree is not, in fact, damaging the city sewer pipe. This tree also causes other problems (it grows too fast for PG&E to keep up with it getting tangled in the electrical lines and during storms its branches constantly break off and fly toward our building and on nearby parked cars. Sometimes they even end up across the street). So the city should also cut down this tree that has grown too big for this residential spot and plant something more reasonably sized that is also safer for the sewer line and for everyone. Thanks.
Resubmitting opens a fresh form pre-filled with this ticket's location and category. The city dispatches the new report independently.
